Ticket prices

Proposed prices were announced in August 2023:

“HCMC’s Department of Transport wants to set the minimum fare for metro line No.1 at VND12,000 (US$0.51) per trip.

Specifically, tickets would cost VND12,000 for passengers traveling less than 5 km, VND14,000 for 5-10 km, VND16,000 for 10-15 km and VND18,000 for over 15 km.

The proposal states that tickets for unlimited trips would cost VND40,000 ($1.68) per day and VND90,000 for three days, while a monthly pass would cost VND260,000.”

Ticket system

Details of the ticketing system is not released. It has been reported that contactless payment system will be available on the metro.

“FPT IS and Mastercard have partnered to introduce a contactless payment system for the upcoming Metro Line No. 1 from Ben Thanh Market to Suoi Tien Theme Park in HCMC.”
