Line 2 is the under-construction second line of the Ho Chi Minh City Metro.
The line will interchange with Line 1 and Line 4 at Ben Thanh Station, and Thu Thiem Station for the high-speed railway.
Construction for Phase 1 from Ben Thanh to Tham Luong broke ground on the 15th of January 2026, and the line is expected to be operational by 2030.
Phase 1: Ben Thanh – Tham Luong
Total length: 11.3 km (including 9.3 km underground and 2 km elevated)
Number of station: 11 stations (including 10 underground stations and 01 elevated station)
Phase 2: Ben Thanh – Thu Thiem Section and Tham Lương – Tay Ninh Bus Terminal Section.
Total length of 02 sections: 9.1 km (including 4.2 km underground and 4.9 km elevated)
Number of station: 9 stations (including 6 underground stations and 3 elevated stations)
Phase 3: Tay Ninh Bus Terminal – Tay Bac Urban Area.
Total length: 28 km (elevated)
Number of station: 22 elevated stations
